MORE THAN A CRACK DEN : THE GLENWOOD HOSTEL
Photos by Mike Llano
Broadway in Brooklyn is thorough. And every Borough needs its classy hourly hostel. Situated right under the J,M Z train tracks between and an empty lot and the newly opened Trophy Bar is The Glenwood Hostel.
Enter and head up the 3 flights of stairs. Come on, it isn’t that bad. Unless you’ve been in the backroom at Boundless drinking Colt45 all day.
I have one rule when it comes to places like this. I won’t stay anywhere at 30$ a night that doesn’t have a classy front desk. And the economic times can’t even touch this place, they never offer credit. Just straight cash for the night.
If talking to one of the 4 permanent schizophrenics that call The Glenwood Hostel home isn’t your style. You can always chat it up with DJ.
Bring your own padlock to make sure the room stays locked while your out looking for your next fix. Or shopping at Boundless NY.
The ambiance of this place is well worth the $150 per week rate, if you can make it that far.
The Stars on the front don’t lie. This is a true 4 star hidden gem on Broadway. Brooklyn would not be the same if it weren’t for places like The Glenwood Hostel.
